    My Sony player displays menus on the test VCD I downloaded but not on the test SVCD or the one I authored. But the SVCDs work fine in WinDVD. I just got this player and it is highly rated here. It's the DVP-NS715P.

    The video on the SVCD does play.

    SVCD is not that compatible with most sony players. You should select to play in PBC(playback controll) mode for menus, usually just by hitting the play button.

    With an SVCD the play button is the only thing that works. But I don't get menus or chapters. The tv screen shows briefly that it is playing an SVCD. I do get menus and chapters with VCDs though. Did Sony deliberately not provide SVCD support for menus and chapters on this player?
