    OK cant find my instruction book at the moment, however just searched the net and it says this has NTSC playback, what exactly does this mean when i come to watch films, either DVD or VCD. Im guessing its not region free, but as i live in the uk,it would save me time if i didnot have to convert Avi's from NTsc to Pal continually. do you need to know anything else?

    Got one of these and it plays NTSC and PAL DVDs no problem (appears to be fully region free out of the box).

    Als have newer model (DVD143TV) this is the same.

    Will confirm this for sure tommorow once kids are up

    Both 142 and 143 play VCDs no trouble

    142 handles SVCDs, whie 143 is a bit tempremental (but works after a few reloads).
