    I am no longer able to watch videos. I insert them but they are rejected right away with the tape coming out. Also the DVD recorder seems to record i.e turns it's self on when it records a programme, lets me record etc but then my discs are empty.

    Is this something I can fix?

    Time to take it to a repair shop, although it will likely be cheaper to replace it.
