i am currently trying to copy dvd to dvd-r
if i copy onto 4 speed disk its fine but when i try to copy onto 1 speed disk i keep on getting power calibration error can anybody help me

only time i have seen that is when someone was writing too fast.
are you sure it was set to write at 1x.

This sounds like a media problem. I get the same error with CMC made discs (Khypermedia and Imation branded) in my Pioneer 105 burner. Try a better grade disc, Ritek G03, Taiyo Yuden and see if they work. Upgrading your firmware may also solve your problem.

Media or burning speed possibly being the issue are probably right, but upgrading your firmware may actually make your problem worse, depending on the firmware version. Pioneer has warned that upgrading to version 1.3 actually reduces the compatibility of some 1x media...
