Hi, i'm wondering if anyone can tell me why my "VOBS" for the movie "SIGNS" NTSC, play at 4:3 or "FULL SCREEN" on my Hard Drive, when the movie plays at 16:9 on my standalone. ALSO, SIGNS, when played straight from the original disk in my DVD ROM, ALSO plays at 4:3 on my computer, but the .IFO files are 16:9.
Can anyone explain how or why this is? I know some movies can play at 16:9 but are encoded as 4:3, but this seems the other way around.
I had a problem with borders flickering on certain 16:9 movies, but not on other 16:9 movies and I just noticed when the ORIGINAL disk of "SIGNS" plays on my standalone, the top border is flickering rapidly, just like the other problem 16:9 movies. I'm wondering if they all have the same structure as "SIGNS." Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.
