    My DVD player flickers on and off during playback no matter which program I use to play it with. If I try and rip a video on it the resulting mpeg file will flicker too. What could be the cause of this how can I get the dvd player to playback smoothly?

    more information needed man. Are you using a standard dvd mpeg, ie: 720 x 480 or 352 x 480....or a tricked SVCD mpeg2, ie: 480 x 480. Also, what program are you using to make the DVDs.
