I burned multiple SVCD's with bin/cue sets and separate encodings from .avi to .mpg using VCDEasy. Encodings were done with TMPGEnc.
I tried several types of media blanks and all worked flawlessly on my Sony 715.
I gave my brother the same CDR's and he could not get any of them to work on his Panasonic RV-32. Either the film was jerky along with the sound or the film would not load. One odd thing was that he could watch the films using the fast forward on the shuttle.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Anyone out there have a Panasonic RV32 that has had these problems? I am wondering if there is a problem with the bitrates. I believe the .avi's were encoded at 2520
using TMPGEnc. I am going to try one more thing and drop the bitrate down to around 1920 and see if this solves the problem.

Hi, I think the problem is simple--the RV-32 isn't supposed to support svcd, only vcd. I just returned mine because it kept screwing up on my dvd-r's, but remember that it couldn't play a svcd I threw in, either. Check the manual, it's just not suported.

You would have to reburn it as a VCD using the header trick. All my VCDs are mpeg2 files and using the VCD header trick and they all play great, near DVD quality on my RV32. As brownstem mentioned, SVCD is not supported, though they will play, but very jerky.
