  1. I'm having a few problems encoding using TMPGEnc from AVI's captured from my DC10+ card.

It works fine until I try clips longer that about 20 mins.

I'm using an version b of the encoder, just wondered is anyone else having problems. Maybe it's the Pinacle overlay software that's picky about what software it links with, but no problems using AVI2MPG etc.

  2. Ricardo,
What size are the AVI files?
If they're bigger than 2 gig, that's your problem.
If so, use VirtualDub to frameserve them to TMPEG.

    If they're not that big....sorry....dunno.

  3. No files are 1.5Gb in size as I used about 6:1 compression.

I tried using a different PC with a different mjpeg codec and I still have the same problem with version f of TMPGEnc.

I've had this problem ever since I bought by DC10+ card and the past I've gotten round this by breaking the AVI file up into 15 min segments and encoding that way.

It's really strange, if I let the encoder run past the 18min cut-off the screen goes black, and if I go into the settings of TMPGEnc and try an select a frame range then after this magic 18mins the picture freezes.

I am using Win98 with Windows Medi Player version 6. Next thing I might try is upgrading to ver 7 of WMP.

    Thanks for replying.

Maybe I should use a different encoder.
