I recently purchased a new dvd player at a local computer show, the make and model are "hiview at-2003" it plays everything I throw at it including just copying mpeg files and playing them in the mp3 player like some of the apexs do. I can't find any info on this player anywhere, it's a nice looking unit and has a lot of cool features including it's mulit-region, but I can't find out anything else on it like cracking the macrovision.
    Help!!!!, info please.

I just tried searching the entire forum for hiview but I didn't get anything. So I searched Yahoo instead. Check it out:

The player is for sale at this site:
    http://www.barrel-of-monkeys.com/graphics/prod/dvdplayers/hiview.shtml

Looks like this player plays everything including HDCD, DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, CD, CD-A, VCD, SVCD, CD-R & CD-RW, MP3, WMA, CD-G, CD+G, and KODAK Picture JPEG Files CD discs

I did see that ad for the player but that was the only thing I could find. I was hoping one of you dvd genius's might have more info on it. It does a lot and I got it for $59.00 US (the ad wants $149.00) at the computer show. It says it also supports vcd 3.0?? I didn't know there was one, any info on this format that anyone knows??

According to Dell VCD 3.0 is:
a new less-popular format, has technical characteristics similar to SVCD and adds more robust interactive features. VCD 3.0 discs are primarily used for instructional videos. Player support for VCD 3.0 is very limited, and title availability is sparse.
