  1. When TMPGEnc extracts to a wav file for external compression sound pops are introduced in the wav file. I used de-mux to extract the original MP2 sound from the Mpeg and there are no pops so it must be the conversion that TMPGEnc uses to go from MP2 to WAV. Is there a resolution to this? I can recreate this issue at will on at least 4 of my video captures, I have not checked the rest of my video captures as of yet. Oh, and I was useing Toolame to compress so I went with the internal compression engine to verify it was not external and the internal compression also introduces clicks and pops. -Alex

  2. If you want to decode MP2 --> WAV, you could try just using Winamp with the disk writer plug-in.

  3. I dont want a WAV file. I want a VCD encoded file which is why I am posting here to VCDHelp. I am not getting clean sound is my issue, not converting to wav.

It seems like this issue is also related to my Thunderbird processor. I can take the same mpg file and encode useing the same exact settings on a P3 and it will encode correctaly. Any one else having pops introduced when encoding on a thunderbird processor?

  5. Convert an mpeg 1 file to a VCD compliant mpeg1 file.
