Following the DVDWS Tips and Tricks thread, they indicate that if you encode with TMPGENC, say at 7000 fps, then use the top quality 8000 fps in DVDWS, that it won't re-encode.
I don't seem to be having luck. I have files that total around 4gb. I have 4 mpg files, maybe 40 chapters between them, and 4 menus. I am confused with what it says the disk sizes should be.
When I select to create a DVD directory, using 8000fps, it says I need 7.1 GB (I am building that right now, and it is re-encoding my files.)
So, that being too large, I tried selecting 6000. It says the size would be 20.1 GB.
Smaller frames per second...almost triple the size? Doesn't make sense to me.
1. Any thoughts?
2. Does it sound right to end up with 7.1gb from 4GB of data files, and 4 menus?
Note: When I finish the rendering, I am going to try putting my original mpg files in the VIDEO_TS directory, and see what the resulting size is. I really don't think it should be re-encoding. Based on looking at the temp files, it looks like they are a LOT larger than the originals.
Thanks
