<----------- for avi, click on newbie
for asf, you have to convert it to avi. you could use an older version of virtualdub or a program named asftools.

I opened the asf file using virtualdub 1.3C and it goes through the asf import filter and then give me this error message: parse error -- too few segments in packet at 5ea65ee (2 expected, 1 found) packet size = c35. I click ok and nothing happens. Any ideas?

You could try repairing your ASF file with ASFTools.
