  1. i am trying to convert an intrlaced dvd that i ripped onto my HD. i used dvd2svcd to encode but the end result was that the video was flickering and the audio was out of sync. Is this becuase i kept it interlaced. There is an option where i can "keep it interlaced" in dvd2svcd. if anyone has suggesstions on how to deinterlace the video that would be helpful.

  2. Does DVD2SVCD use DVD2AVI? If so use "force film" and that should fix your problems

  3. Under the "DVD2AVI" tab in DVD2SVCD choose NTSC Field Operation: set to automatic. That'll do it. However, if you burn the interlaced MPEG2 files to CDRs as SVCDs they will play fine on your TV. MPEG2 supports interlaced video.

Deinterlace and reencode with TMPGenc. It has deinterlace filters. DOUBLE looks good, though pick what you think looks best in the preview window. Use DVD2AVI to grab the files, but open the D2V file in TMPGenc, forget about the DVD2SVCD encoder.
