I'm using a VideOh PCI card with Movie Mill, capturing at what Movie Mill calls 'DVD quality' (DVD res @ 5Mbits/sec). I'm then using Ulead DVD Movie Factory to author it. Even though I have "do not convert compliant DVD video" checked, it still insists on converting it. How can I capture mpeg-2 in true 'DVD standard' that won't need further conversion in authoring programs, and what is this true standard? Unfortunately, using a VideOh! PCI, my choice of capture programs is somwhat limited (MyDVD and MovieMill)...
Thanks.

I meant the parameters of the mpeg2 that make it 'standard', not the recording/medium standard.

Read further down and it tells you the main parameters.
There are also several links to other sources of DVD technical info.
