Just wondering if such animal exist.

I'm currently using a Daewoo 3000NG 'upgraded' for region-free viewing enjoyment. But I'm always wondering if some of the portables and multi-disc carousel types have caught up as well.
Also, I'm wondering if the magical 'progressive scan' is available on such players.
Finally, is the 3000NG still available commercially? If not, which model would be considered a replacement for the same price range? I'm considering sending one to my friend back in the old country...
