  1. Hi,

normally I work with ffmpgx to reencode vob files into lower bitrate m2v to import them into DVD SP. Now I got a .mov (interlaced mjpega 720x576 25fps 2Ch AIFF) and i wanted to find out which will be the best configaration of FFmpegX to receive a good m2v.
For me it seems that it takes much more time to encode a MjpegA mov. into m2v than to reencode a m2v!?!? The best result gives the option mplayer decode with denoise on (WOW!!) but .... very very slow. So I tried the other options (Quicktime decode, or both boxes unchecked) well faster but still slow.

So I tried Quicktimes mpeg2 export the first time and ..... WOW!!!!!! 8 times faster than FFmpgX and the quality of this interlaced source was quite good.
But ..... the video is too bright!!! If I open the m2v in VLC ... too bright.
If I open it in Quicktime ... it's ok, .... in DVD SP ... to bright!!
Why does the Quicktime export give this bright result??? And why encoded m2v's in Quicktime are shown darker and more colorful??

    Anyone got an idea??

  2. Try setting field dominance to upper or lower.

    incredible,

how do you access the mpeg 2 export option in quicktime pro. I have the mpeg 2 decoder? Is there a mpeg 2 encoder available, and if so where can i get it?

    thanks,
