    Hey guys,

I need to get cleared on something... which is better? VCD's? or SVCD's?

people say that VCD's are better because you can fit more on a single cd, but isnt the clarity drastically reduced? most tutorials on this site are for VCD's... so i was being led to believe that they were better.

but.. from the words of it SVCD, being super, would be better? high quality video, etc...

any comments as to which is better, and why would be greatly appreciated.

Video quality is definitely better with SVCD due to the higher resolution and higher bitrate. Because of the bitrate being higher you get less time on one CD (providing you are using a video bitrate greater than 1150kbps (the only video bitrate allowed for VCD) and less than 2520 (the approx maximum video bitrate allowed for SVCD)). For further details I suggest you look at http://www.dvdrhelp/vcd and http://www.dvdrhelp/svcd
