  1. What format should the text be in, in order to create chpater points? Im guessing i have to find the time in which the scene changes and put that in the text, but im not sure what format....

    any examples would be great.

I have never had a problem adding the cell times for authoring with ifo edit

Just open the main move ifo with ifo edit, then go to the top white box and double click the line that says VTS_PGCITI

Then just under that a you should have your main movie PGC which should look like this VTS_PCG_1

Right click it and go to save cell times

There you have all your chapters in a text file ( thats already IfoEdit compatable) ready to add to your M2V,AC3, and Subs

  7. well, heres the thing, i have a downloaded movie (no original IFO) and i have converted it so that i can burn it to a DVD, i do this all the time, but i never have chapters and its like having a old VHS tape in my dvd player(fastforward and rewind) I went into VirtualDub and went through the movie frames and typed the frame numbers in a CellTimes.txt when i saw a good chapter point (scene change), but after burning i saw that the chapters werent even close to what i had originally, they were cut all over the place. The only thing i can think of was that i used the original AVI to check frames for chapter cuts and not the MPG used for the final burn. any thoughts? and program to check frame with MPG?

  8. Been looking at this strange feature. I think its preset for 30 FPS not the 29.97. If I did 29.97 as a start it made a mess out of it. If I use 30 for the caculation it comes out pritty close and its a small precentage off.

    So 5 minutes is really

    (((H * 3600) + (M * 60) + (S) )* 30) = Frame

    (((0 *3600 ) + (5 * 60 ) + (0))* 30) = Frame 9000

Here is a run on a m2v file With 5 minute spacing between chapter points

    CALC Actual Time Frame
    09000 05:00.16 9016
    18000 10:00.07 18007
    27000 15:00.04 27004
    36000 20:00.11 36011
    45000 25:00.17 45017

Working on a small program where I can scroll through a video and build a text file from the selected points. If works, may post.

I am wondering on what the format to feed IFOEdit to do a Menu right now.
