  1. Using DVD2one then nero 5 to burn as DVD-R.

Able to play the DVD with power DVD on my laptop but not on my DVD-R compatible home DVD player -- it says it can't read.

When i burn in nero i have been using the wizard: and burning as a data CD. When i start to burn it prompts me saying that this file contains several layers and ask if i want to to burn as multisession DVD. I have tried both ways and neither will play.

The final file extension is .VOB. Am i supposed to Finalize or does Nero do in automatically?

I would really appreciate any advice.

I always burn with Nero and have no problems with playback. The method I like to use is DVDDecrypter,DVD2ONE, and Nero to burn to dvd, but where I think you might be coming into a problem is when you burn a data dvd. You should be burning a video dvd. You might need to install the MPEG-2 DVD Encoder.

  3. Use the Nero Express engine to burn your dvds. I do by using Nero version 5.5.10.15 and have burned DVD-Rs that play on my computer and on my standalone (Panasonic DVD-RV32) with absolutely no problems! I also use DVD2ONE and/or Ifoedit 0.94 depending on the size of the movie. Just pick "DVD Video" when in "Express" mode and the files (DVD2ONE creates the necessary ones) will be automatically arranged for burning. (There is no need for an mpeg 2 encoder because the files are already in the mpeg 2 format.)
