  1. Hi,
Just bought CCE Basic. Resultant mpeg2 doesn't seem to be dvd compliant even though the 'dvd compliant' box was checked. Can't get MyDVD or DVD Workshop to recognise properly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

You need to tell us what error you actually received. It's probably because you encoded avi is 23.976 fps. CCE does not perform 2:3 pulldown. If your using NTSC, and your MPEG is at 23.976, most of the authoring software will reject the MPEG. Use MPEGProperties (find it in the TOOLS section to the left), to examine your output, to see what framerate it is.

  3. You are right on the money! Just received an email from Cinema Craft Tech Support saying the same thing and telling me about gocce and avisynth. Seems to work a treat!

    Thanks for your help

    gocce?

What did they tell you? I've wondered for a long time, why they don't include 2:3 pulldown in the CCE product line.

You can use PULLDOWN.EXE and the Pulldown GUI (both should be in the TOOLS section..if their not, you can google them).

  5. GoCCE is a shell that puts the avi thru avisynth and calls cce to do the encode. Very simple to use and fixes the frame rate and frame size so you can produce compliant dvd/vcd. Only problem is the resultant mpg is stretched vertically. Not sure how to fix that but it doesn't really matter for me since I have a widescreen tv so I just set it to 16:9.

Haven't tried it but cce basic does have pulldown options. Inverse 3:2 pulldown and Letterbox Hint. Not really sure what they do or when to use them.

    Thanks

Those options detect pulldown (Telecine), they do not perform telecine operations.
