Running Win XP and after downloading various films have found many that
are unable to be deleted just says file currently in use..I read sometime
ago there was something that could be done within the registry files which
allows you to delete these files is this still possible and could someone explain how Cheers in advance![]()

What is happening is : You click on it (to delete it) and windows goes out and tries to d/l the codec so you can see it in the preview window. Installing the codec will stop this.
Simple, but a royal pain in the ass. You can delete the folder they are in. You can not highlight them and delete from a command line (del filename from the same folder they are in). You can turn off the preview option by changing your desktop layout to 'Classic'. You can disable you internet connection ( remove IP ), etc etc etc.
If your good you can highlight multiple files and hit delete, since it can't do multiple previews, usually you can delete all but one.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
