I have only used Ritek (silver top, purple bottom) so far. I have one DVD-r I got off the street and it plays flawlessly, however I have recorded 2 DVDs with Instantcopy so far and they both either won't play at all or freeze up (during the intro sequence and when choosing different menu options, but not when I can get the actual movie to play).
Is this a media problem or an Instantcopy problem? If someone uses a different brand or knows what the problem is please help.

I think I figured out my problem. The player was on it's way out because now it won't read anything at all. I can hear the discs spin but it won't read them, must have been the laser that went. That really sucks too because I had this thing for less than 2 years. Piece of junk. I am going shopping today to buy a new one.
