    I'm trying to convert this asf file I have.

    And I've been trying to run it through ASFTools

    and well after Re-Encoding and such the Video becomes completely unviewable (Pixelated and white out every so often)

    And also when I try to use VirtualDub 1.3 the thing encounters a fatal error and all this debug stuff comes up and it has to shut down.

    I can't figure what is wrong with this stuff.

    Can anyone here help?

    i had some asf files i wanted to convert to avi.. a time ago.. and i used TMPGenc.. and it worked out perfectly..

    TMPGenc will encode many asfs to MPEG - make sure you set the priority of the directshow filter high.

    Microsoft has its Windows Media Encoder software free on its site - you might try to convert your file to another microsoft format that is more compatible with the asf conversion programs.
