  1. I'm wondering how many of you that saw Panic Room thought the kid in the movie was a boy? I know I did for sure, and when I heard the mother refer to the kid as a "her" I was like WTF! lol...how many of you thought the same?

I only watched Panic Room last week, sure I did thought she was a boy until Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) says Sarah sometime during the film on DVD.

It was then I realized a daughter, not a son. Normally, someone can’t tell the sex with so much boyish in appearance with hair as so short with flat chest.

  3. Took me & my wife most of the film to tell she was a girl.

    She's a girl right?

Or is it, He's a girl...?

    I'm confused.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

The actor is certainly an actress playing Sarah, her name is Kristen Stewart. A girl is playing a girl as Sarah.

Check out on the official site of Panic Room: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/panicroom/

This is info on Kristen Stewart: http://us.imdb.com/Name?Stewart,+Kristen

  6. I read somewhere that's actually a thing they use in cinema and theatre on purpose. To have a young actor be as non-gender specific as possible.
That way the viewer can project what they would like that character to be, thus making the viewing experience that more enjoyable, I guess.
Just look at commercials, they do it all the time.

To answer the question, I thought it was a boy too. She'll probably grow up to be quite hot, look at Natalie Portman in The Professional.
