    Greetings...

wasn't able to find the info in a search (or it's quite possible I saw it but didn't recognize it was the right answer!) Hope someone can help.

I have a dvd that I backed up to my hard drive using SmartRipper. The source dvd has become wrecked and is now unusable. I have the .vob and .ifo files. The dvd is about 2 hours & 15 minutes, or about 5.1 Gb.

I can lose some non-critical scenes to get it to fit on a DVD-R. What I'd like to be able to do is use Chopper or Vobedit and trim a couple of the .vob files directly, reducing the total size down to under 4.7 Gb, and then burn back to DVD-R.

Is there any software that will let me burn from .vob and .ifo files? Or do I need to go through another conversion step? And will cutting out section "A" of the disc affect sections B, C, D, etc...

Any help appreciated - these forums are the best!

  2. Did you ever find out how to convert from .vob files to some other type of file? I need to know how to do this.
