Well, I played with fire and got burned! I was ripping in excess of speeds of 15.4x on DVD-5's, and I decided because my LITE-ON 163D is a little slow reading DVD+R's that I would upgrade to GHR7. I've played around with all sorts of methods and none of them will allow "DOS" downgrades. My original version with those insane rip speeds was "GHR3." I went through not having my drive recognized to having my system almost crash and barely be able to boot...to FINALLY getting back to GHR7, but even though my read speeds have increased on all media..I can't rip ANYTHING faster then 6x. My drive with that old GHR3 version it came with was rippin' so fast it sounded like a JET inside that bad boy...now I need a stethoscope to hear it rip!...lol...that's a shame!

And what makes this even crazier is that I can RIP DVD-9 FASTER THEN UNENCRYPTED BACKUPS OF DVD-5's! That's crazy! Anyway, can ANYONE tell me how I could possibly get rid of the firmware I have..even if it leaves my drive unrecognized I want to try and be able to get an offical version of GHR3, and the DOS versions won't let me downgrade.
