Hi all:
I have a divx movie with a stamp at the bottom and another at the top.
I heard somewhere that both could be removed with virtualdub, but I checked carefully all the posiibilities and didnt find anyway to do that with virtualdub.I think that with the right program they wont be too dificult to remove as they are both very close to the edges.
Can anyone tell me how to do it please ??
tks.hilario.

You can use the null transform filter, and crop out the "stamps" or watermarks.
Or you can try the logoaway filter: http://www.voidon.republika.pl/virtualdub/
But - You have to reencode, lowering the overall video quality (unless you save out as uncompressed, which will result in a huge file).

I've have seen the results of logoaway and similar filters and they do NOT (I cannot emphasize this enough) do anything other than produce an area exactly the same size as the "stamp" that is blurry and sort of transparent. There's a Russian website that has some doctored photos that show complete removal of a watermark from a video. You should realize going in that you cannot under any circumstances achieve the results in the photo with their software. Again, the photos are doctored. Many who do this are disappointed in the results. It requires very expensive software that Hollywood has access to in order to do this kind of thing well. Don't expect miracles from free/cheap tools.

Thanks Mats.
In my case it worked as the movie is stamped near the top and bottom edges.
So It was very easy using virtualdub and logoaway filter.
Of course the resolution of the movie has changed but the most important is that the boring stamps were removed.
thank you once again for yr support.
