  1. I have an avi file that i wish to convert to dvd using tmpgenc. But it does not like the audio file. When i get the properties up for the file it says audio format unknown 48,000 hz, 5 channels.
    Does anybody know what to do in this situation?
    Is it possible to convert?

    dunk,

    Have you tried opening the AVI in VirtualDub and choosing File--> Save WAV? This should work provided that VDub has no trouble recognizing the audio. At that point you have 2 options;

    1) Do the step mentioned above then open the AVI as video source and the saved WAV as audio source in TMPEG and encode

    2) Open the AVI in VirtualDub and frameserve it to TMPEG and encode. If VirtualDub has no trouble with the audio then you may be able to skip the Save WAV step.

    Let us know how you make out!

    That looks like an AC3 file.

    Save it as a WAV from virtual dub (direct stream copy)

    rename the .WAV to a .AC3

    Then convert it to WAV with HeadAC3he (find this in the tools section)

    Use this WAV as Audio in TMPGEnc

    You might need AC3FIX if HeadAC3he fails too.
