Anyone done any compliance test with NERO new version?
    New version 5.5.10.15
I have had and some issues with NERO in the past making DVD compliant disc along with a lot of other people. I see the new version 5.5.10.15 is out. I have down loaded it but have not had time to do any testing. My question is has anyone who was receiving Disc Error or No Disc error messages due to NERO on their Stand alone had a change to do any testing and if so can you please post any KNOWN results pro or con.

    Thanks

With Nero 5.5.10.15 I still have the file re-allocation issue so I didn't even bother burning the DVD.

Back to RecordNow where it all works.

@BarryHL, what Aspi drivers have you installed? Adaptec?

    I have :
    ASPI32.SYS 4.71.1
    WINASPI.DLL 4.6
    WNASPI32.DLL 4.71.1
    WNASPI32.DLL (Nero) 2.0.1.59

  4. I've installed and the first dvd I tryed to do give me an error of re-allocation file, but I think was the media (a DVD-R quixo 1x) So I've tryed again on a Princo DVD-RW 1x and soon after on a Princo DVD-R 1x and averything worked fine!
Now i have to try to a stand alone player for complyance!
This ha been the 1st time that I've seen this re allocation issue, while never happened on previous 5.5.10.7b!

Well i'm not to sure what I have installed now, I installed nero aspi then the adaptec aspi then I installed CloneCD which i think comes with aspi drivers.

If there is a utility that tells you what aspi drivers you have installed I will use it and tell you

    Hope that helps.

I never had problem with DVD-Video compilation in Nero.

About file re-allocation issue read this post:

You can start NERO INFO TOOL @ Programs --> AHEAD --> NERO TOOLKIT.

I've installed the latest version of nero and I've had this re-allocation error ONLY with this release!

I've read the guide @ doom9 (as posted) but the problem is that I use DVD2one 1.0.2 and not IFOEDIT!

Probably DVD2one 1.0.2 has the same bug as IFOEDIT.

Thnak U for your reply kabanero.
However I've used dvd2one1.0.0 (and nero 5.5.10.7b) and it was errors free!

However it seems that now no more re-allocating errors!
    Reinstallled adaptec 4.71.a2 (latest)

Well, I ripped a DVD5 so I wouldn't need IfoEdit or whatever program to change the files.

All files are intact and not changed, so I drag the files into the Nero templates and yet one .BUP file gets placed at the end of the list.

This proves that authoring or IfoEdit has nothing to do with the file order.
Changing the Dates-tab doesn't help either.

I used Smartripper and DVD Decrypter, it didn't make a difference either.

Other soft like RecordNow do not give me that problem, yet it's on the same PC with the same drivers and ASPI versions.

This has to be Nero related?

Oh, everybody says to use the UDF/ISO template to burn DVD Videos.
Then what's the purpose on having a DVD Video template????

I have read many posts about negative results with NERO but I used the 5.5.10.15 version with HP 200i, Memorex, and Verbatim +R media and have had great results. System specs: FIC AD11 MB, AMD 1700+, 256 DDR 2100, Maxtor PC133 30 GB HD, Win XP Home SP1, Apex AD-1500

Yes, tested Nero 5.5.10.15 with all my standalone players (Toshiba, Sony, Sylvania) and all work perfectly using the media noted below with my Sony DRU-500AX.

    Sony 2x DVD-R media
DVD-ON / ESBUY (Ritek) 4x DVD-R media (havent burned a coaster yet, although I get mixed speed results from this media)
    Pioneer 2x DVD-RW media

I've also tested for backup purposes, the Sony 2.4x DVD+RW disc that came with my drive, works perfectly.

I have never had a problem with NERO 5.5.9.0 writing to my Philips DVDR+RW228. I have updated to 5.5.10.15 and that works as well,

This success applies to either the Normal NERO-DVD-VIDEO route and NERO EXPRESS.

System is XP PRO. Applies to DVD2ONE encodes, DEMUXED rips then authored in SPRUCEUP or DV Video capture.

  16. to bl2003, TOMMO, and others who have had success with the new NERO, can you specify whether you are burning using dvd-video template or DVD-ROM (UDF1.02)?

Also, have you tried to play with older DVD players or players that didn't work with previous NERO?

I burned with the standard DVD-Video template. I have 3 DVD players, and only my Pioneer stand-alone would play the Nero burned disks before, but now all 3 including my 2 year old Apex will play the Nero burned disks fine.

  18. thanks,

this is exactly the type of results i want to hear. for me, the 5.5.9.14 had worked under dvd-video with my 2 dvd players, but i wanted to make a disc that would be compatible with older players as well. Tried DVD-ROM udf1.02 but only one of the players played it.

if others have similar results please post.

As previously posted, both the DVD-VIDEO template and NERO EXPRESS work fine. I have not tried UDF1.02.

Works fine on my Philips 711, my daughters AIWA ????, two other Philips DVD players and a Pioneer. Basically DVD2ONE for oversize DVD backups for my kids, or Authored DVD in SPRUCEUP/MAESTRO, or Captured DV and then authored. No problems with NERO in either version. Only reason I upped from 5.5.9.0 was because of posts on the DVD2ONE forum which mentioned it was more compatable, trying to make it work on my bothers NAD DVD unit, which refuses to play VCD, DVD+R or DVD+RW unless it is authored in MYDVD and written to a DVD+RW.

Ok, I'm trying to clear this up for me and I'd really appreciate it if some people could answer the following questions.

For those who have Nero working for DVD Video in their standalone players (not DVD-ROM):

    1. Do you have (or had in the past) any other soft installed for burning CD/DVD's? if so, which?
    2. Installed ASPI drivers related soft? yes? which? version?
    3. What ripping and authoring soft do you use?

    cheerio,
    MrSnake
i have WINOCD 5 Power Edition installed, XP PRO without SP1.

i have not deliberately installed any ASPI drivers except those which get installed with the software I suppose.ASPI driver fore NT version 5.1.2600 (XP CLIENT 010817-1148) from Microsoft. WINASPI 1.0.0.154 and NERO ASPI WNASPI32.dll version 2.0.1.59 dated the 29th January 2003. I have never really taken a lot of notice of this ASPI stuff.

I have already stated the software used in earlier posts.

    Good luck mate.
