MAybe, but NERO can't really burn DVD+R/RW, which could work on my ADL 528 DVD player. But RecordNow Max can.
But for every other burning task, I'm using Nero anyway.
    Don't know, why it can't burn DVD+ disks.I wish it could ....

NERO can burn DVD+R and +RW. using it - 5.5.9 - to burn my DVDs with a Philips 228. No problems. The only failures I have had are due to a faulty hard drive.

I've burned the same VIDEO_TS directory with Nero and RecordNow and Nero works everytime,RecordNow never works. I looked at the ifo file in the VIDEO_TS directory and the RecordNow disk and the ifo file in RecordNow is vertually blank, containing none of the detailed instructions that run the DVD. RecordNow corrupts the ifo files, that's why it doesn't work.

  6. I could never even get Nero to install so I use RecordNow and have burned well over a hundred DVD's that play in all three DVD players I have at home.

  7. To each his own. In my hands Nero is worth about as much as a bag of warm hamster crap. If it works for you great. For me (and several others) all it does is make coasters. Personally I prefer to burn my DVDs with DVD Decrypter.

See that's the problem, I use what works for me and you use what works for you. Yet for some reason people feel the need to 'convert' everyone to their side/way

I like Nero also. To bad about the fact they can't make 100% DVD compliant disc's. There is still hope though release 5.5.10.13 out now I guess we will see?

I've been using Nero for years. Used it with several CD-Writers without any problems.

However, for DVD Video recording Nero doesn't work for me.
Even with their latest version 5.5.10.15 I get incorrect file re-allocations, which means DVD backups work fine on PC DVDROM but *NOT* on a standalone DVD Player.

With RecordNow 4.60 I never had one problem, all worked great.

Some people have the opposite, Nero works fine, while RecordNow doesn't.
I don't know what's causing this, but I wouldn't say which software is better than the other.
Just use the one that works best for YOU.
