Original DVD'S

Having just recently bought a Philips 711 dvd player,I was wondering if someone could tell me whenever I play an original dvd disk I get a lot of annoying lines especially during fast action scenes.Having gone through the forum I cannot find anything in relation to this. Please help?.

I own a Philips 711 and I have never experienced this. Does this occur with every movie or just some? Also what format and region are the discs?

sounds like a bizarre version of macrovision ... do you have your dvd player hooked into a vcr before it goes to your tv?

It occurs in every movie and they are all original movies,the format is pal but I am not familiar about region I am based in Ireland if thats any help.The DVD Player is hooked directly into the TV as is my VCR, as their is only one scart connector on the back of my TV I was wondering if this could be the problem as it is about 4 years old. I believe new TV'S HAVE MORE THAN ONE SCART CONNECTION NOW?

your disk is in pal but your tv and/or dvd player may not support pal.


not all do.

that could explain your problem.
