Sony DRU-500-AX - what programs will let me burn at 4x?

Greetings all -

sorry if this is the wrong forum, also sorry if this has been covered before, I couldn't find anything on topic.

I just got a Sony DRU-500AX, and so far I've done some backups and everything is good... except the speed.

I'm using Nero 5.5.10 and it reads my drive as a DRU-500A, and only offers me 1x or 2x burning. According to everything I've read (including the box) this drive should burn -R at 4x...

Is there another program aside from Nero that will allow me to burn at top speed?

Doesn't the drive come with "RecordNow"? If so then install that program which will do 4x burning on the 5assuming you have 4x media.

the drive did include RecordNow... I guess I've just believed all the posts that said the included software was crap.

I'll give it a shot. Any other options?
