  1. Well, I'm a newbie again. bought a DVD burner and have been farting around with it for about a week now.

Over the last several months, I have been using DVD2SVCD as the one click solution for converting DVD rips (and a few divx movies) to CVD (with 48mhz audio). I used CCE 2.5 as the encoder (doesnt matter for this question, but just trying to be thorough )

Anywho, I have about 140 movies that I did with DVD2SVCD, burning the resulting CVD onto 2 or 3 (depending) CD's. All play perfectly in my dvd player (its an apex, so that may not be a fair statement). Well I recently learned that I didn't close the GOP's when I used DVD2SVCD. From talking to some of the fine folks in this forum, I was told that if it wasn't a multiangle thing, not gonna be a problem. Well, I am proving that logic wrong (unfortunately).

After pulling my hair out to merge 2 mpg's without issue, I said that I'd just dump them into ulead MF1 and see what happens. It accepted them as 352x480 48mhz 128kbit audio (just for reference, the movie is monsters, inc-I've also tried lilo and stitch and scooby doo). When I get to the point of burning, I get this error from ulead "the number of video frames in a GOP is not valid for a DVD".

I tried sprice up and it would start to take the file and then disappear???

obviously, I do not want to have to re-encode the movies and was hoping that there was some way that the GOP structure could either be faked or a patcher could be put in. Something???? I have searched through the forums under GOP and things like that. Anyone know of a phrase that would get me the info I need. Also, dont recommend TMPGENC to join these files. It makes them noncompliant for uleade MF.

  2. you might try authoring with Ifoedit .95 it seems pretty accepting of the SVCD's I put onto DVD-R with 480X480 video at 23.97 FPS and 44Hz audio
