My captures in PAL VHS tape format are fine but when I capture from a NTSC tape I don't get many dropped frames but I get what looks like interlacing (horizontal lines) going through any area where there is movement. How do I get rid of this annoyance, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried a couple of filters like deinterlace and bob deinterlace but they don't make much difference. If anyone from North America could reply and let us know how they capture their NTSC tapes that would be great.

Im capturing in 352x288 using Virtual Dub 1.4.10 with the huffy codec using video-in connector from my video card.

We ignore the interlaced lines that appear on our computer. They do not show up on our TVs. But if you want to view these videos on your computer, you may want to look at inverse telecine in TMPGEnc.
    Hello.

Thanks TommyKnocker for your reply. BUT, i found out why!!

I changed the resolution to 352x240 (instead of 352x288 PAL) I did not get the flicker (interlace) lines going through when there was movement in the NTSC video.

Hope someone can learn from my lame mistakes (but probably not). Thanks for your time everybody.
