    Hi guys,

Could anyone tell me what the largest SVCD mpeg that can be burnt on a 700mb CDR or CR-RW, assuming over burn is enabled?

    Please help, thanks in advance.

I can't answer that directly but I fit a .CUE file that was over 800MB onti a 700MD disk.

    thesicilian,
on my system i can burn 820mb with overburn on. it matters not whether it is vcd or svcd. it is a file size issue (aka megabytes). of course the amount of movie time for that same megabytes is not the same for vcd or svcd.
thus a simple test (and a complete loss of a cdr) can confirm what your burner can do. create a vcd that is about 900 mb. then burn that to disc. when it ends because it ran out of disc space it will show how much was written to disc when it stopped. thus, you will now know how much you can put on a disc. of course the disc is now a coaster but ...... at least you know how much you can fit on a disc.
now with little bit more engineering one can create nmenomic that translates encoding bit rate into final mpg file size. for my system at 2.5 Mb i can get 40 minutes of svcd mpg on one 700 disc.

i must also say that when you overburn you will run the risk that your player MAY display problems at the very end of the disc and will not play correctly. i.e., skipping, halting, jerking and other unwanted artifacts. seems that at those outermost edges the system has migrated into the non linear playback mode and anything is possible.
