Recently I decided to make the leap from vcd to DVD-R. At first I had problems even finding the right authoring program. DVDit, DVD Movie Factory 2, DVD Workshop, MyDVD, IfoEdit, Spruceup.....None of these got me from m2v & ac3 to a DVD successfully. Either they didn't have anamorphic 16:9 support, AC3 support, or they didnt detect the time correctly. DVDit came close but wouldnt except my movie files. Then I came to Scenarist. WOW! very confusing program although it has the right features. (Anybody have a really good guide?) Fianlly I came to Maestro. This program is by far my favorit piece of software ever. Between it and workshop, I was finally able to author a good DVD of a certain movie that George Lucas wont release.

Now I am to the last part of the process (finally), burning. First tried to burn with Maestro. It will not recognize my Pioneer 103. Next to Prassi Primo DVD. It just isnt too good for anything. Next Nero. I heard people have problems with it. I made a 100% certified coaster. It failed the data verification. Could this be because of some scratches that were on the disc before I burned it? It has been sitting around for a while. Also, tomorrow when i go get new discs, what Format should I use in nero to burn the disc? I have heard many people debate on the topic. Anyways somebody suggested that Gear Pro is the end all program for burning DVDs. It will NOT recognize my drive. any ideas people i do not remember the exact message but something about the CDR interface. I am running Windows XP Pro. Are there any other programs that we can agree on that will burn DVDs with the track record of this Gear Pro? Or maybe somebody that can adress why it wont recognize my drive.

Anyways sorry for the long post.
I am excited and a ready to watch my disc.
