You have to reencode with VirtualDub. I don't know a way to hardcode the subs in an existing DiVX. You can use the subtitle plug-in in VirtualDub and encode the DiVX with the subs in the picture.
But why encode the subs in the DiVX, you can use for example MicroDVD player and watch the DiVX with 'overlayed' subs. It works perfect. But first you have to convert the .txt sub file to a sub file microdvdplayer can read. -
actually microdvd read the txt file perfectly, but i want to burn a cd that would play on a dvd, so i understand the only way is to make a permanent subtitles for that.
i didn't exactlly understand you're explanation could you explain it again?
thank's

I'm not sure what format your text file is in, but I'll assume it lists the start/stop times for the text that should be displayed. There are several subtitler filters for Vdub to add custom subtitles. The most popular is a filter that allows Virtual dub to use SubSation Alpha scripts.
SubStation Alpha (http://www.eswat.demon.co.uk/substation.html) is a program used (mostly by anime fans) to add subs to video w/ a genlock. But you can get a filter to allow VDub to read SSA scripts (http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_filters).
1) D/load SubStation Alpha and the VDub filter
2) Load your DivX in VDub
3) Load the SSA filter w/ your script
4) Apply any other desired filters
5) Frame server to your favorite encoder (CCE, TMPGenc)
