  1. Hi,

What TV tunner cards are compatible with Radeon 7500?

What is your experience in mixing Radeon 7500 with tunner cards?

I was thinking of buying WinTV-FM or Aver Studio.

    Regards

    Jose

  2. I have an ATI Radeon 7500 with an ATI TV Wonder VE capture card.

The capture card works fine on my system but this is obviously highly dependent upon the system within which it operates.

The only problems that I have encountered with this card have been with installation of the drivers and with upgrading the Multimedia Centre (MMC) software.

The reason why I chose the TV Wonder VE as opposed to the plethora of other cards was to promote maximum compatibility with my ATI graphics card. I think it works well but the maximum capture resolution is somewhat limited which requires that I re-size during encoding.

Nevertheless, it produces good quality AVI captures and has a good tuner. It is worth the minimal cost (approx. $45).

Hope that helps from the ATI hardware perspective.

I have a Radeon 7000 64 mb ddr and a aver tv stereo. I am using the btwincap drivers and use virtualdub_sync to capture vfw codecs and iuvcr to capture directshow codecs. Mostly I am using the tuner to capture cable tv to main concepts dv codec, trimming out the commercials and encoding with main concepts mpeg encoder to dvdr specs. Very happy with speed and output. I use either my trusty old hollywood plus or powerdvd xp out of the Radeon's S out to display the output on my TV. I can encode the captured footage at less than real time with a P4 2.4B overclocked to 2.88. Quality is superb and no compatibility problems. I didn't bother to install avermedia's drivers as I knew I wanted the btwincap drivers. Good Luck!
