    Chillipowder,

First of all, I don't know why you (and others here) use "," commas in your
decimal places. stop, as it's confusing people like me. I had to re-read
your post, till I finally realized what you were stating and how to answer.

in TMPG (if you are using it) just make sure your framerate is set to
    29.970 (not 29,970)

I don't know the nature of your source, ie., if you captured it or did
you D/L it etc. I'll assume that you captured it. As such, you need to
change the fps to 29.970 in your capture app. Then, next time, you wont
    have this conversion prolem.

You may or may not have problems w/ your final output, due to this slight
fps issue. Only a test will tell (on your part)

I think the coma is the correct usage for some locations in Europe and perhaps others.

  6. First of all, i am simply used to the comma since school, which was in fact in Europe, (old europe as Mr.R. said) . Anyway thanks for your tips. But my problem is, that i have two movies to merge. One of them has 30.000 fps and the other one 29.970 fps. Normally i use tmpgenc to merge my videos. But when i try to do it this time, the programm complains about different formats. So i thoght i could use virtualdub. But it seems a bit complicated for me.

    Any hints

    Thanks

  7. In the UK 30,000 reads as 30 thousand, so I can see how this can be confusing.

  8. Load your mpeg 1 video in virtual dub. go to video and audio and make sure direct stream copy is selected. then from the video drop down select frame rate or cntrl+R and do change frame rate and type in 29.97. You can recreate the mpeg or just frameserve to Tmpeg.

  9. Ho do i recreate it. Sorry, iam so new to virtualdub. I must confess, that i have only used it so far to recognize the frame rates. The rest you told me, i understood. Allthough, i have heard that frame decimation produces the better results.

  10. I think you can only frame serve by going to file > start frame server and naming it something then .vdr.mpg after it. I'm sorry I'm not very knowlegable with virtuladub. I dont know much about the decimate option.
