Are R4 DVD's NTSC or PAL source ?
If the're PAL is there a nice way to rip PAL DVD's ? I mean, without ketting those annoying '2-frames-into-1' interlace sh_t ?
Anyone got a PAL ripping tutorial ?
Thanks...

R4 DVDs are PAL.
Almost every single PAL DVD I've seen has the main movie in a progressive format.
What exactly are you trying to do??

Thanks for answering...
Never mind about the ripping. Already got myselfe a VDub plug-in that de-interlaces PAL movies -
What I meant was that most R4 DVDs aren't interlaced to begin with... thus, you don't need to de-interlace at all.

errr...Overlooked the Progressive :S
But I got me a sample of an R4 DVD wich WAS interlaced. Didn't check the complete movie though, trying it now. -
Now the big problem....I can get rid of all the interlace lines but here's it :
HOW THE HECK DO I GET RID OF THE DUBBLE FRAMES !!! ALMOST EVERY FRAME IN MY MOVIE LOOKS LIKE IT 2 FRAMES IN ONE !!! (well...allmost every onewith motion offcourse
)
Plz...someone w/ experience w/ PAL ripping, help me !!! -
Usually only the trailers or added material is interlaced. The main movie is almost NEVER interlaced.
I generally use FlaskMPEG and I simply check the "deinterlace" box if it is interlaced.
BTW, which DVD are you trying to rip exactly??
Regards.

I'm trying to rip Neon Genesis Evangelion Collection 05, it's an Australain import (R-2/4). It's an anime.
I don't use Flask to rip, I use the Smartrip/DVD2Avi/VPFI/VDub-Nandub Method
I've tried some filters in VDub, but the only get rid of the lines, not the 'ghosting effect'. Also it blurred my rip, so that's not a good choise. I tried to sharpen it, but it didn't help mucht.
edit: BTW. this is from one of the Trailers on the DVD
here's a sample pic

R4 DVDs produced in Brazil are NTSC!!!
One of the best methods I have ever seen to deinterlace a NTSC 29.97 movie is the telecide filter for Virtual Dub.
It works fine for me. BTW, most of the movies R4 are FILM!

Could be, but this one is a PAL R-4 DVD from Australia !!
And I don't think there's any way of telecining a PAL movie, or am I wrong ?
