Have you encoded the avi in a different framerate then the source?!?!
    That can cause jerky playback.

I did a similar thing - encoded an xvid (correct framrate) and it is perfectly smooth on my computer. But when I put it in my standalone it is really jerky. Quite strange.
    Sweet.

  4. The only time I get that is when I set the FIELD ORDER improperly.

Don't know if that aplies to xvid.

I get this when I download an avi that is 23 fps and I play it back on a pal 25 fps dvd player. So I have to convert the avi to 25 then its fine.

    Done that loads of times.

In my case I encoded a 25 fps xvid. I never did that before, but I have done loads of 23 fps xvid and 25 fps divx.
    Sweet.

    Smokey,

I use KingJohns giude. He has been banned from this forum now, shame, but all his guides have gone. If you want I could email it to you. I have it saved on my hd because like I said, I do this everyday

If so then leave your email and I`ll get it to you today.
