I have some MPEG1-files, which are too dark. In some scenes I can hardly see anything.
Is there a tool, that can change gamma or brightness of an MPEG? Or is there maybe a player software, that has this oprion?

You can re-encode the MPEG1 using TMPGEnc (see the tools section on the left) and use it's 'Custom Color Correction' settings, or an excellent freeware viewer which has more options than I know what to do with (including brightness control) can be downloaded from here ->
