ftp help...

Hi I have never used or know what a ftp is until recently. Someone let me download off them. Can anyone show me how I can make one of my own. Let's say I have a folder and I want to share it where someone (let them download something off me) how can I do it?

I am very new to this so I probably sound like an idiot but if you can help me out I would really appreciate it.

you can do a search for: leech ftp server. it is freeware. a small program thats easy to use.

How do I create a ftp server? Like I have a folder and some one wants to download something off me. How can I make an address to give him so they can download?

By address I mean like those other people that list somehting like ftp:and an adress here <- how can I make this.

you just find out what your own "ip" is,then you give your ip to whomever you want to download from you. they also would need a server/client,installed on thier machine.

once your server is installed and set up,then people can d/l from you once they have your ip(you give them access).

czech out serv-u ftp server, its pretty easy to setup..
