  1. I made a .MPG file that plays on Windows media player. I made it from tmpgenc. It is 1.14 GB. I tried to cut it after the fact, but virtual dub just laughs at me. Are there any tricks other than proper planning before i rip?

    Check out VirtualDubMod ... available I think over in the Tools section. It supports importing of MPEG2 rather well...

  3. but Virtualdub mod only saves the file back to avi after, which means re-encoding and quality loss. Try TMPGenc's 'Merge and Cut' tool.....it will do simple cuts.

    If you get A/V synch problems after the cut in the second part demultiplex and cut the audio stream with with any audio editing program(legionPC informed me of that one) and then multiplex it back together...

    You should get bbMPEG. Is the best multiplexer out there!!! :P

    You could find bbMPEG in the Tools Section to the left.
