    Hello everyone,

I have been usining Premiere Elements 3.0 to edit my video projects. I have used the software to prepare DVD's but found it rather time consuming. I thought it would be better to encode to mpg2 (720X480, NTSC) and then take the mpg file and use a different authoring software : cyberlink power2go to prepare the DVD. Unfortunately, the software doesn't recognize the file.

I could reencode using Super to a smaller aspect ratio, but I see a loss in quality. Is there anyway to produce the files out of Elements to make them work in other authoring software.

What I would like to do is prepare several mpg files and then author them to a DVD. I've found doing this on Elements is tedious. The Power2Go software is simple enough, but I can't make it recognize PE 3.0 mpg files.

    my system :

    Pentium 4 3.0 GHz
    1 GB memory
    160 GB HD
    Radeon AIW 9600

    thanks

What do you mean "smaller aspect ratio"? DVD can be 4:3 or 16:9.

What are your other encoder settings?

    thanks for the response.

I did a little checking, it wasn't a change in aspect ratio, but the number of frames was changed from 29 to 25..

how would that make the file more readable by another software package...

    confused

Keep settings to limits set by the DVD standard

NTSC DVD frame rate must be 29.97 for 480i or 23.976 for 480p.
