After I have followed the instruction about how to convert a DVD in a SVCD (Smart Ripper---DVD2AVI---TMPGen) I obtain a MPG that runs great on the PC (video and audio quality are both great and they are syncronized); the problem start after I burn the CD (I'm usong Nero 5.5.4.0) since my standalone DVD player (Panasonic DVD RV31), that should read both VCD and SVCD, give me a problem:
the images are good in quality but they are "jumpy"; I mean that the reproduction of the movie is everything that smooth, it seems that the DVD is played in a slow-forward way and the soundtrak is "jumpy" also.
I have tryed to use other ways too but I got the same f..... problem!!
Any suggestion about it???

Sorry to hear that, I have the same problem as you, and was told it was because my DVD player did not support SVCD (but why does it sort of play them).
If you every find an answer to this problem, could you e-mail me macca@n2.com as I would like to try SVCD's and not VCD's.
Cheers
Macca
