Hi all,
I'm extracting episodes from several Star trek episode DVDs I have and am trying to compile a best of DVD-R. I will extract .vobs, run thru DVD2AVI then re-encode to bitrate of about 3000 with TMPGEnc, then Re-author with Maestro.
One thing I'm wondering about is when re-encoding in TMPGEnc I want to match the exact resolution of the episodes. I have done stuff like this before but in the past the material was always 720x480.
Anyone know of quick way to find resolution of .vob files?
Also, I wonder if I should choose 4:3 or 1:1 in TMPGenc? Any thoughts...
Thanks

Programs like Mpeg Properties and AVIcodec will give you that information. I believe there available in the tools section on this website.
I can tell you from lots of prcatical expierence that thier all 720x480,both the TOS and TNG disks. You know the TOS disks are single-layer,except for disk #40. -
Thanks, Ill give them a try. Hope they work for .vob's. I ended up using ReMPEG2 but it took like an hour to load the stupid vob file...
