Hack the Firmware, use a macrovision box, use TV Tools.

    Pick one of the three.

All this is assuming you have a video card with TV out and made the appropriate connections to a VCR.

Enable the TV out part of your card so that you display is on the TV, open PowerDVD, cue your VCR to record, play the DVD in full screen, and start recording. If Macrovision causes a problem get DVD Genie.

  12. If you have a standalone DVD player, all you gotta do is input the dvd player into your capture card, and output your video card video out to the vcr, thats what I do, works fine.

  13. Yeah i got TV out. I connected my tv out to the input of the VCR. poppped in the dvd and played it fullscreen with powerDVD. doesn't work!

  14. Hello there
What I do, sometimes when a movie it too long like 2 and half hours or more, I would disable the macrovision on my DVD player (Raite Avphile 715) and connect directly to a VCR (I have an older JVC HS-51) which does not detect those macrovision changes and presto play the dvd and press record on your VCR. It worked well and there was no distortion in the picture nor the sound.

  17. Game_Freak,

Sorry for the slow response, had to go to work. Anyway, I purchased mine at this link (http://www.videoguys.com/sima.htm). You definitely have to hook everything up per direction. I purchased the SIMA SCC and it actually worked when I made a backup copy of ANTS. Also, try typing in SIMA under search. It should direct you to other stores hopefully close to your location. Good Luck!

That's true, but it doesn't apply to DVD-Video. Most DVDs (I do not know a single other one) have the movie (*.vob - files) splittet in 1GB-Files. Sp if the movie is 8GB in size, you have 8 files with 1GB. No problem here.

You can now get the SIMA video CopyMaster at Circuit City (believe it or not) for only $39.99. I was shocked when I saw it there.
