Cant FF or REW mpg movie. Help!!

Hi,
I d/led this movie in mpg format and when i play it i wanna to skip through the movie. I use WMP8 and when i try to ff by dragging the slider forward, it skips back to its current playing position. How can this be fixed?? Anyone have the answer? Im greatful for any help provided. Thanx

if you used nero and it's before version 5.5.6.4 you need to include a file in order to fast forward and rewind. Check the tutorials on how to burn a vcd/svcd in nero. hth

Have found remux (simple multiplex with the original file, don't overwite the original), has help some mpeg files. (TMPGEnc - MPEG Tools -> Simple Multiplex, first tab). Select the right Stream type if know it (worked for VCD files). Since not re-encoding is pretty fast.

I thought this was a restriction of using WMP to view MPGs? You can play them alright, but seeking (forward or backwards) isn't supported.

Use a DVD player (e.g. WinDVD o PowerDVD) instead.

i thought wmp doesnt work w/ the slider if the mpeg is vbr but does work w/ cbr .. not sure about this though . but seem to recall this is the case ..

I am sure you are right. My CBR mpegs play fine with FF/REW, but my KVCD's do not. Try Zoom Player instead
