I've been looking around this website for anyone using software that will allow you to import mpeg2 captured with an ati card at dvd quality 720x480 8m/sec,and then add chapters. The mydvd software that comes with the sony dru500a lets you import the mpeg2,but won't allow chapters to be made unless it was captured in mydvd.
Ulead movie factory seems like a likely candidate, but i can't find anywhere on their website that says it will do that.Mydvd burnt the 83 min. movie onto a riteck dvd and it plays just fine.I'd like to get some software that will allow me to add chapters to an mpeg captured from other applications.
I think i'm going to have to get dvd2one.From what i've read on this site it's a good tool for the money.
Thanks for the info boys and girls.

I know my Video Studio 6 has a DVD burner engine that lets you make chapters.

  4. I also use DVD Maestro for this, great program. You can set pretty much anything you want with this program. Ulead DVD Movie Factory should be able to do the same thou.

Right now i'm leaning towards ulead movie factory or ulead video studio 7.
I looked at sonic mydvd upgrades, but there isn't a lot of info about chapters, unless it is captured within the software. If you can select capture options like Ati mmc 7.0,then that would be okay.
I looked on cnet, and they recomend dazzle, video explostion plus, and ulead video studio 6.

  6. MovieFactory will let you add chapters to already encoded video. Last time I checked, they offer a 30 day trial version that is close to being full featured. So just give it a try. It only costs around $50 retail. A friend found it offered at I think CompUSA with a $20 rebate which made it $30. It does not do everything possible but it does everything you need for a basic DVD with menus and chapters.

  8. Have looked at Studio 8. It a PCM audio based one but for 100 dollars what do you want.

Did a test a while back and made a VCD with real chapters. The DVD is about the same scheme. Has base templates that can be modify.

    Good luck on your search!

PS: Its VCD compression is bad but from reports is better at higher bitrates.
